HaysMac is delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Clarke as Chief People Officer as it continues an ambitious period of growth and investment in its people.
The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for HaysMac. Having achieved sustained growth over a number of years, expanded its service and market offering through strategic acquisitions and set its sights on becoming a £100m business, the firm is continuing to invest in the strategic leadership hires, infrastructure and capabilities needed to support its next chapter.
Matthew joins HaysMac as Chief People Officer and a member of the Management Team, where he will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the business. Responsible for leading the firm’s people strategy, he will support more than 650 colleagues across its London and Cape Town offices while helping to ensure HaysMac’s culture, leadership and employee experience continue to evolve alongside the firm’s growth ambitions.
In a profession where attracting, developing and retaining exceptional talent has never been more important, Matthew’s appointment reflects HaysMac’s belief that its people remain its greatest strength. His arrival coincides with the onboarding of 53 new associates, highlighting the firm’s continued investment in nurturing talent and building the workforce that will support its future growth. Matt’s focus will include leadership capability, employee engagement, talent development and fostering an inclusive environment where individuals can build rewarding careers and perform at their best.

Building on those foundations will be central to Matthew’s role as the firm continues to evolve. Matthew joins HaysMac from Deloitte, where he most recently served as HR Director for Audit & Assurance and Firmwide Business Partnering.
Bringing extensive experience of supporting large, complex organisations through growth and change, he joins HaysMac at a time when its ambitions for growth are matched by an equally strong commitment to employee experience, leadership development and inclusion.

This announcement follows an exceptional 12 months for HaysMac. The firm celebrated its 25th anniversary in January 2026, marking a quarter century of delivering exceptional service, fostering talent and making a lasting impact across the business and social purpose community.
The year also saw the strategic acquisition of corporate finance firm Green Square, further strengthening HaysMac’s deal advisory capabilities, alongside the acquisition of Moore DM’s US Tax team, enhancing the firm’s international tax compliance offering and Private Client Tax expertise.
