    HaysMac Work Experience Programme

At HaysMac, we are committed to creating opportunities for young people to gain valuable insight into the world of work. We are proud to be partnered with Access Accountancy and we are dedicated to improving access to the accountancy profession. We are actively working to remove barriers that may prevent individuals, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, from exploring a career and gaining experience in this field.

In line with this commitment, we have put in place the following programme for all work experience placements. As part of our long-term Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy, and in partnership with Access Accountancy, an ICAEW-supported charity promoting access to the profession for those from lower socio-economic backgrounds, we are committed to offering at least 30% of work experience placements to applicants who meet two or more socio-economic criteria.

    The programme will include:

    • An introduction to HaysMac and our work in the professional services industry
    • A team welcome and overview
    • Shadowing team members in day-to-day activities across our Audit, Tax, Non-Audit Services and Operations teams
    • A session with the Professional Qualifications and Early Talent team on our School leaver and Graduate programmes
    • Observing a live audit, client meeting, or other departmental activities where possible
    • HaysMac will cover your travel expenses, and provide lunch daily
