    We are looking to recruit a Senior Manager to build on continuing growth in the Financial Services (FS) sector. The key aspect of the role will be to work closely with the Partners and Directors (RIs) running a portfolio, working with a range of financial services clients including investment and wealth managers, professional services, financial advisory, currency solutions providers and fintech businesses.

    You will be expected to manage a client portfolio and be actively involved in helping to drive the Financial Services strategy, whether this is attending and contributing to the market facing (business development) activities of the sector, getting involved in team management, technical support and training, running projects such as efficiency improvements, work phasing or team training.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    Your day-to-day responsibilities as outlined below are generalised and in no way exhaustive:

    • Audit, statutory and CASS audit:
      • planning, fieldwork and completion review and management;
      • coach and develop staff;
      • lead client meetings;
      • research and propose solutions to accounting queries for discussion with the RI;
      • review and mark up financial statements;
      • monitor budgets and recoveries and where applicable discuss overruns with clients; and
      • manage client and RI expectations.
    • Being a key point of contact for your client portfolio throughout the year
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients as well as prospective clients
    • Provision of general business advice to clients
    • Managing the overall service delivery to clients this includes overseeing the delivery of non audit services to your clients.
    • Ad hoc projects
    • Client billing
    • Line management of staff members in the team
    • Coaching and developing team members reporting directly and taking an interest in the career development of others
    • Co-ordination with other service line teams to deliver a high quality and cohesive client service
    • Reporting directly to the RI and having several direct team members report to you.

    • Excellent technical and personal skills to service a portfolio of clients efficiently and effectively

    • Ability to nurture, motivate and develop junior staff and empower them to perform to their best ability
    • Excellent communication skills and be confident, articulate and able to communicate at all levels externally and internally
    • Ability to produce high quality business style reports for directors and business owners
    • A team player with the ability to prioritise work and work to tight deadlines
    • Strong organisational skills
    • Proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong relationships
    • Be able to learn and adapt to new situations or work on new software

    Work based competencies

    • Understanding of Financial Services specific audit risks
    • Working knowledge of the FCA handbook
    • CASS audit knowledge
    • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and ISAs
    • Experience with LLP SORP
    • Experience with accounts review
    • Working knowledge of Tax (corporate, partnership and personal)
    • Experience managing the audit from planning to reviews and completion
    • Qualified accountant
