Ed Warner (appointed as Chair) and Stephen Wardell to join as Independent Non-Executives (‘INE’s’) on the Leadership Board, bolstering haysmacintyre’s governance and expertise as the firm looks to the future
Top 30 firm of chartered accountants and tax advisors, haysmacintyre, has today announced the appointment of its first INEs to its Leadership Board.
Ed Warner will join as Independent Chair of haysmacintyre’s Leadership Board, effective from 1 September 2022. Stephen Wardell will join as INE, with an extended focus of supporting the firm’s Audit Committee with its audit quality improvement plan with effect from 1 October 2022.
Ed has a wealth of experience outside the accountancy profession. A former investment banker, Ed currently holds roles as Chair at LMAX, JLEN Environmental Assets Group, and HarbourVest Global Private Equity Trust. He also holds various roles in sporting organisations, including Chair of Palace for Life Foundation, and Chair of GB Wheelchair Rugby, in addition to formerly being Chair of UK Athletics and Chair at a Top 6 accountancy firm.
Ed’s variety and depth of experience will help ensure haysmacintyre has a clear, successful strategy, enabling the firm to capitalise on and progress with transformative strategic projects.
Stephen has been an attendee at the KPMG UK Audit Board since 2018 and was formerly a partner at KPMG. During his time as partner, he ran their corporate audit practice in London and prior to that the firm’s middle market audit practice in the South East. Stephen is also a Non-Executive Director of AIM listed Billington Holdings, and is on the Board of Trustees of the 5% Club.
Stephen’s audit experience in particular will be invaluable as haysmacintyre looks to implement strategic changes in line with its audit quality improvement plan.
Commenting on the appointments of Ed and Stephen, Natasha Frangos, Managing Partner at haysmacintyre, said: “We are delighted to have Ed and Steve joining us as we move into this new operating and governance structure.
