    About the Firm

We’re not your typical accountancy firm. And we’re proud of it.

HaysMac is an award winning, independently owned accountancy, tax and advisory firm with over 650 staff. Based in London and Cape Town, we work with ambitious businesses, entrepreneurs and purpose-led organisations, helping them navigate complexity, unlock potential and build for the long term.

But what really defines us isn’t just what we do – it’s also how we do it, and why we do it.

At the heart of HaysMac is our purpose: For Business. For People. For Good.

    Programme Details

We are committed to creating opportunities for young people to gain valuable insight into the world of work. We are proud to partner with Access Accountancy and are dedicated to widening access to the accountancy profession. We actively work to remove barriers that may prevent individuals, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, from exploring a career in accountancy and gaining relevant experience.

As part of our long-term Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy, and in partnership with Access Accountancy, an ICAEW-supported initiative that promotes access to the profession for individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds, we are committed to increasing access to work experience opportunities for those who may face barriers to entering the profession. To support this commitment, we aim for at least 30% of our work experience placements to be offered to applicants who meet two or more socio-economic criteria.

    The programme will include:

    • An introduction to HaysMac and our work in the professional services industry
    • A welcome session and overview of the firm
    • Shadowing team members in day-to-day activities across our Audit, Tax, Non-Audit Services and Operations teams
    • A session with the Professional Qualifications and Early Talent team covering our school leaver and graduate opportunities
    • The opportunity to observe a live audit, client meeting, or other departmental activity where possible
    • HaysMac will cover your travel expenses, and provide lunch daily

Please note that we cannot guarantee which departments you will spend time with during the programme. However, if you have a particular area of interest, you are welcome to outline this in your cover letter and we will do our best to accommodate your preference.
